Allison Chinchar, a CNN and HLN meteorologist at CNN and HLN. She has a presence presenter on CNN's New Day Weekend and HLN's Weekend Express, as well CNN International. The station meteorologist was employed as an in-house meteorologist at local stations on the air in Atlanta, Nashville and Chattanooga before becoming a part of CNN. She's covered flooding, wildfires and hurricanes as well as snowstorms. In the year 2019 she was nominated for the Emmy award for covering the hurricane Dorian from the Bahamas. The coverage she provided of the Super Tornado Outbreak of April 2011, in which over 350 tornadoes were recorded in the Southeastern United States over a time period of four days, 200 that occurred on the 27th of April was nominated as well for Emmy. Her background being an ecoscientist has made it possible for her to publish stories regarding climate change and natural disasters such the eruption of volcanoes, earthquakes, and so on. Chinchar is a graduate of the Bachelor's program of Atmospheric Science, which she received from The Ohio State University. Chinchar is an active member of a variety of organizations, including that of American Meteorological Society and Canadian Meteorological and Oceanographic Society.
