After several appearances in popular television shows and movies, she gained fame when she was a part of The Ally McBeal legal comedy where she played Ling Woo. The new fame she gained was transferred into roles that were filmed on the large screen with Shanghai Noon, Charlie's Angels and other films. She then delivered a superlative performance as Japanese crime lord O-Ren Ishii in Quentin Tarantino's Kill Bill Volume 1. The actress also played the lead role in box-office failures such as Rise: Blood Hunter. In the following years, she started voicing characters from animated films like Kung Fu Panda or Tinker Bell.
